before, during and after nationals

I was crowned on June 10, 2007 at the Pennsylvania High School Finals Rodeo in the Equine arena of the Pennsylvania Farmshow Complex. Approximately on month later, I was on my way to represent my state at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Springfield, Illinois. I had an amazing time meeting all the girls, and competing with them throughout the week, Miss Iowa High School Rodeo and I "tag-teamed" our selling of fifty-fifty tickets, and Miss South Dakota and Miss Nebraska hosted an informal pizza party after the one rodeo for us queens, which was one of the few relaxing moments we all had together that whole week. I would like to congratulate Miss Utah on her win of the National title! She did a wonderful job and she will represent the association very well in the year to come! It was a busy, fun-filled week where I spent half my time being queen and half my time competing in five events.

After nationals, is where the real work begins; I had almost two weeks off until I made a queen run at an open rodeo that was put on by friends of ours (I also competed in break-away roping, and barrel racing that night) I also had a few youth rodeos in which I did not represent High School Rodeo at.

On Tuesday, I went to Penn State's Ag-Progress days, signed autographs, passed out flyers, and did a roping demonstration with Ward Studabaker, and a few of High School Rodeo's Alumni who just happen to be attending Penn State. I had a good time teaching a few people to rope, and I would like to thank Ward for letting me ride his horse, JR and to Katie for lending me her break-away rope and making me feel at ease. Also, Jorama Ranch trailer sales for letting me sit under their awning, Mary and Galen are great!

Until next time, keeping on shooting for the stars and roping your dreams!
